Honour Cord

Bachelor's/Associate Degree graduates awarded with First Class Honours/Distinction are eligible to wear an honour cord during the Congregation and the Graduation Ceremony. The honour cords are given to graduates when they come to collect their award certificates.

The honour cord consists of a pair of identical golden cords that are knotted together and is worn by hanging loosely from both sides of the graduate's shoulders. It can be kept by the distinguished graduate as a memento but does not form a permanent part of the academic dress.
